Haptic Creature looks like Mutant Bunny

Filed under: Uncategorized — crankweb @ 2:38 pm

Roboticist Steve Yohanan has developed the Haptic Creature that looks more like a bunny missing several important facial features to me, and this robot relies on touch feedback as it’s only means of communicating. Boasting pressure sensors all around, this furry, eyeless rabbit robot will be able to sense how it is touched or stroked, responding appropriately by making breathing-like motions, ear wiggles or purring vibrations.

I wonder how will it react to the pain of a power drill - will it’s ears just start twirling crazily until they pop off?
